I am using v 1.11 I am not sure why the listener is needed either, but when I tried to send email without creating the dialog box, I kept geting errors on Connecting the socket. I am using the email function to send myself a log file and a settings file. I can post my class here if anyone wants to ...

thx micros, your code really helped me out. i got it to work (scrolling and painting). i think the really important thing was overriding the virtual OnDraw() function instead of reacting on paint event. i don't know how i could have read past that in the docs. one more thing, could you tell me how y...

concerning your weird window/cube-corner-missing error, i don't know. i never got such issues. and your code looks correct now. it may be a driver issue or a wxwidgets error. which wxwidgets-version are you using? you could also try to build a basic wxwidgets app, with only one frame and one context...

... sorry if I seem annoying but it's the only place I was able to get a decent answer. not annoying but it is very hard to answer when your statements are not clear. and most of the time it helps people themselves to correctly articulate their problems :) -- i don't know why your render window was...

sorry theigor, but goeba is absolutely right!!! that's the way it works. an opengl context should "paint" (render) the whole time, as fast as it can or at least with more than 24 frames per second (your rendercode should be fast enough for that). if you really have the special case scenario where yo...

@ blue: what do you mean with "blue screen" ... a blue screen of death? or simply a blue render context / window? @ zooming: it depends on what you want to achieve ... read http://www.opengl.org/resources/faq/technical/viewing.htm#view0040 or http://www.opengl.org/wiki/index.php/General_OpenGL:_Usin...

the line "glViewport(0, 0, (GLint)700, (GLint)477);" is totally wrong ! you only have to setup the viewport once (on app init) or when the size of your window has changed. but you have to do every frame: clear buffer setup projection matrix setup modelview matrix so after enabling the projection mat...

With what could I replace your camera object in your gluPerspective call for now because I do not have a camera yet.... replace it with 3 floats values camera.fov ... field of view ... i.e. 60.f camera.zNear ... z near plane ... i.e. 0.001f camera.zFar ... z far plane ... i.e. 100.f maybe you shoul...

glOrtho ... describes a matrix that produces a parallel projection ... it's like enabling a 2d-mode where your z-coordinate does not have an effect on the size of your model. it only acts as a deepth-index (like layers). of course a z-value must be between near and far plane to be drawn. so as long...

using opengl with wxWidgets via wxGLCanvas (or your own subclassed one) is a bit tricky (although not too hard) because you have to abuse the event-system to get double buffering. basically your own glcanvas class has to react to wxPaintEvents (EVT_PAINT), wxIdleEvents (EVT_IDLE) and wxEraseEvents (...

scroll & paint in wxScrolledWindow

hello, can somebody please help me with a clear (step-by-step) guide for the (smart) (re)painting and the scrolling (by mousewheel too) of a wxScrolledWindow (which in my case is a image gallery). because i really despair of these issues. i mean painting works as long as i do not scroll. and i'm sli...

actually i don't really get your problem but maybe i can help by contributing some code of my really fine working glcanvas class. i.e. i do successfully use glLookAt for my camera class. without calling glLookAt your viewpoint stays in 0,0,0. so try transforming your model to something between your ...

hmm, could it be, that the default wxSMTPListener (g_nullListener) indeed does nothing? i thought it was only for reacting on events and not for actually sending it. and i've read nothing about having to implement a concrete listener for the whole thing to work ... btw, which version of wxSMTP are y...

Hi, I tried unsuccessully to use wxSmtp classes. I can't remember what the problems were but there were many. I looked at other non-gpl smtp projects out there and non of them were any good and were missing key features. I ended up writing my own client. I found specs at: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/r...
