Re: Help with wxHexEditor

You should contact the author of that application, there is nothing we can do about it.

My best guess is that the author uses absolute values for the size of that panel and it doesn't fit because the user settings (font size, theme, display dpi, etc) are different.

Re: wxWidgets for Android?

I know, I know... "Google Android is based on Linux but it is not Linux, it has no X server. Also Google Android is based on Java, but it is not Java because has no regular Java Runtime." But now with Android's NDK it's finally possible to develop in C/C++ for the Android... so I was wond...

I don't know if this 10+ year old post from Vadim is still relevant, but maybe it helps:

Re: Cygwin help

Are you sure you need Cygwin? Or is it just about MinGW? (In which case you don't need Cygwin)

Re: wxBitmapComboBox dropdown list doesn't fit screen

This seems related to the absolute screen size. I made the first test in a VM at 1440x900 where it showed the error. Now i tried at 1680x1050 and i get about the same result as PB.

Re: wxTreeListCtrl column width uncontrollable

Which platform and wxWidgets version are you using? When i take the "treelist" sample under Windows and change the column width in the following line to any value, it does exactly what it should. tree->AppendColumn("Component", wxCOL_WIDTH_AUTOSIZE, wxALIGN_LEFT, wxCOL_RESIZABLE ...

Re: wxBitmapComboBox dropdown list doesn't fit screen

The text is still not "crisp". However, i tested it and the problem still exists when the app is marked as "dpi-aware".

Please open a bugreport at http://trac.wxwidgets.org/

Thanks

Re: Generate UI with xrc file, wxChoice control operation has error.

I tested the code you posted on Trac and it worked for me.

Make sure you're linking the correct wx libraries and that they were built with the same configuration as your app.

Re: wxBitmapComboBox dropdown list doesn't fit screen

As the text on your screenshot is blurry, i think you didn't build the sample as "dpi-aware" but your screen uses a font-scaling > 100%

Re: 2 Panels with different sizers

Put both panels into so sizer, so that normally they would be displayed next to each other. Then just Hide() the one you don't want to be visible and Show() the other one. Another option would be to make the video panel a child of the image panel, so that it lies over it. Then Show() or Hide() just ...

Re: Looking for a tile layout kind of widget.

Take the client width of the parent. Calculate how many tiles you can fit in a row
Calculate the x-offset of the first item, so that the tiles are centered.
Loop over all tiles and set their x- and y-position.

Set virtual size of the scrolledwindow.

Repeat when ever the client width changes.

However, if all tiles have the same size, id would be relatively easy to calculate all positions yourself without any sizer.
So I can get rid of the WrapSizer completely and calculate the wrapping behavior and positioning manually? Like making
a custom sizer in a way?
Yes.

Is it possible to always align/show all items in center?

Re: Looking for a tile layout kind of widget.

Check out wxWrapSizer: https://docs.wxwidgets.org/trunk/classwx_wrap_sizer.html Oh! This is nice, this does fix the problem somewhat. I noticed that when I expand the window size, more stuff appears, but once I get expand it to the point that the scrollbar disappears, and then I make the window sma...
