Re: Fire & Forget wxTimers

Hello, Will the timers be all calling the same function? If so, an easy way to handle this is to use and event table macro to bind the function to the event and just setting the same ID for all timers you need. Then, if you have 100 timers but all with the same ID, they'll all call the same function...

Re: Writing a loop on menu bar

Yes, that would be it. Since you don't stop after 'i' gets to 0, there won't be any errors in the code if you use an int. I've run into this problem multiple times: When writing a 'for' loop that goes down instead of up, using size_t is generally a bad idea

Re: Support to Dark Mode on Windows 10.

On windows, you can override OnMeasureItem and OnDrawItem for menus to draw them as you want if you want to draw them with a dark theme. I didn't know that, thank you for the tip! Although I suspect that, to keep the codebase more consistent, using the wxFlatMenu might be a better option (but may l...

I basically get the info of the item that is being dragged from wxDataViewListCtrl, from the Sqlite database, such as filename, sample rate, path and all and I want to insert the filename to whatever container the file drops on.
Oh okay, sorry for the mix-up!

Re: wxDataViewTreeCtrl - How to check if a container has child items?

Hello, AFAIK wxDataViewListCtrls and wxDataViewTreeCtrls handle their wxDataViewItems differently: the former uses wxDataViewListStore and the latter uses wxDataViewTreeStore, so I suspect that, even if you manage to get the wxDataViewItem (which is just a memory address, what handles the data is th...

Re: Support to Dark Mode on Windows 10.

Hello, I really appreciate this thread because Dark Mode support is really important to me. It's hard to withstand the strain caused by bright lights coming from the screen and I very much miss the ability to use Dark Mode on my applications. I see some people speaking of something more than "just a...

Okay, sorry, since you ignored everything I've said I give up. Good luck on getting a Browser in a tab, even though that takes 3 lines of code.

Re: Simple wxSwitchCtrl class

(Edit 2) - Reformatted the code to follow wxWidgets standard. - Added user-slide functionality: the user is able to manually slide the button and change the state that way. - Added 'this' to the event generated with wxEvent::SetEventObject(). Maybe I did some extra things, but as far as I remember t...

There is no real reason for you to "guess anyting". If you cannot appreicate where the thread is going please cease future responses. Again your response is of exactly zero help to me. Exactly who is the "we" you are referring to? Oh my God dude, I just explained everything to you, how wxWebView is...

Re: Browser In A wxNotebook Tab

What?? He literally just gave you the code and you didn't accept it! Maybe you have misunderstood things. wxWebView is an existing control that works as a browser in any wxWidgets application, just like a wxButton or wxListCtrl or any other. It is a (mostly) fully working browser and you can use it ...

Re: Browser In A wxNotebook Tab

Sorry, but you're coming off in a really bad way here. You have not really answered the simple questions asked and got mad about it. I don't understand the project either, shouldn't adding the wxWebView be trivial? If that is really the objective, then the project is meaningless, because, AFAIK, it ...

Re: Skinnable scrollbars

This is a nice solution to it! A lot of people have wanted a way to customize the scrollbars, so I think this is a very good contribution :) I've made a custom solution to this as well, but it works in a different way and it's restricted to wxRichTextCtrl. Interesting to see how different your metho...

Re: Simple wxSwitchCtrl class

Hello ONEEYEMAN,
Thank you for the tip. Should I just open a PR as a generic control or do you mean I should look into implementing the control natively for each OS? I may try and make it a little more customizable and implement the drag functionality, then I'll see about submitting it to the library.

Re: How to change style of scrollbar

Like already mentioned, you usually can't customize the native scrollbar, you'd have to create a custom control that mimics the behavior of a scrollbar. That means: - draw the background - draw the arrows - draw the slider - react to mouse events to change the position of the slider - generate even...
