Re: Building wxShapeFramework on Mac

Hello, Thank you for the tip, but I still had some problems. I wanted to ask a few things: Did you create an XCode project and a worksapce for the wxSF? And if so, when building your app, did you add that project/workspace to your app's project/workspace? Did you add both wxWidgets' project and wxSF...

Re: wxCommandEvent get name of Control

Well I have one function and I bind() all the buttons to it. So I thought I would distinguish between then using their name. Is there any other way? Hello, Consider creating an enum with various entries and then setting the ID of each button to an entry. Then, use event.GetId() to know which one fi...

Re: wxGraphicsContext feedback

Hello,
You might wanna consider checking out wxShapeFramework, everything you described is present there (although with transparent bitmaps there's a rectangle safe zone of sorts, so it's not pixel accurate to the bitmap. For rectangle opaque bitmaps this isn't a problem).

Re: Building wxShapeFramework on Mac

Hello,
A little guidance would be great. I do use XCode but only for iOS development (I don't like it very much...), but I just wanna make this work. Thank you for reaching out. I may need to steer clear of CMake for now until I learn it properly.

Re: Building wxShapeFramework on Mac

Oh, by the way, I didn't install wxWidgets system-wide with make install because the official documentation says it's not recommended, so the library is just built and that's it

Re: Building wxShapeFramework on Mac

I can't seem to get it to work. My wxSF directory is located at: wxWidgets-3.1.5/3rdparty/. I've been struggling with this for so long. The file I came up with is this: # define minimum cmake version cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.0) # Our project is called 'wxShapeFramework' this is how it will b...

Re: Error "The submitted form was invalid"

Huh, I use Brave and have had this issue for some months. Interestingly enough, when I had the blocker set to medium the problem still appeared, but setting every option to block aggressively made it go away, but maybe it was a coincidence.

Building wxShapeFramework on Mac

Hey guys, I've been using wxSF on Windows for months and I absolutely love it, it's amazing. The thing is, I can't build it on a Mac because the premake files that need to run are 32bit and Apple dropped support for that a while ago, I can only run 64bit files. Should I make my own CMake files and s...

Re: Fire & Forget wxTimers

Hello, Will the timers be all calling the same function? If so, an easy way to handle this is to use and event table macro to bind the function to the event and just setting the same ID for all timers you need. Then, if you have 100 timers but all with the same ID, they'll all call the same function...

Re: Writing a loop on menu bar

Yes, that would be it. Since you don't stop after 'i' gets to 0, there won't be any errors in the code if you use an int. I've run into this problem multiple times: When writing a 'for' loop that goes down instead of up, using size_t is generally a bad idea

Re: Support to Dark Mode on Windows 10.

On windows, you can override OnMeasureItem and OnDrawItem for menus to draw them as you want if you want to draw them with a dark theme. I didn't know that, thank you for the tip! Although I suspect that, to keep the codebase more consistent, using the wxFlatMenu might be a better option (but may l...

I basically get the info of the item that is being dragged from wxDataViewListCtrl, from the Sqlite database, such as filename, sample rate, path and all and I want to insert the filename to whatever container the file drops on.
Oh okay, sorry for the mix-up!

Re: wxDataViewTreeCtrl - How to check if a container has child items?

Hello, AFAIK wxDataViewListCtrls and wxDataViewTreeCtrls handle their wxDataViewItems differently: the former uses wxDataViewListStore and the latter uses wxDataViewTreeStore, so I suspect that, even if you manage to get the wxDataViewItem (which is just a memory address, what handles the data is th...

Re: Support to Dark Mode on Windows 10.

Hello, I really appreciate this thread because Dark Mode support is really important to me. It's hard to withstand the strain caused by bright lights coming from the screen and I very much miss the ability to use Dark Mode on my applications. I see some people speaking of something more than "just a...
