wxThread and wxApp-Question. wxGetApp() in a thread

Hi!

Is it thread-safe to use a wxGetApp() in a thread. I'm using a thread to insert data in a database and need a var from my app. Is it thread-safe to wxGetApp() in thread's run-process? I'm just reading from this variable.

Stupid question...

Thank you!

Thank you! I got it working with shlobject.h!

Do you know why there are 2 implementations of wxmkdir? wxMkdir and wxMkDir. IF i use the first it doesn't create any directory, with wxMkDir ist does. I'm using wx2.91.

Thank you very much!

Why are the CSIDL defs for MSWGetShellDir in cpp-file?

I want to use wxStandardPaths::MSWGetShellDir(int csidl) but the defines are in the standardpaths.cpp-file? Why?

What's the trick/mind behind that and how to use it the right way?

Which wxStandardPaths-Method points to AppData\Local ?

Hi! Today a basic question. Which wxStandardPaths-Method points to C:\Users\user\AppData\Local and to the corresponding(or equal) path under Linux and Mac? I don't want the Data in Roaming. When there's such a method what's with it under WinXP,2000? Would it point to C:\Documents and Settings\Local ...

BTW: I just checked the sources, overriding the methods can't work, they're not even members of the base class. The documentation is wrong there.
Saw it, too... :D

Now wonder that it doesn't work that way.

OMG...stupid. Shame on me. Of course, the event has to map to function. Thank you VERY much!

Thanks for your answers. If i use the derived one, overriding the method, ok, i did try. The point is that the internals of wxFileSystemWatcher works, if i set breakpoints i can see that an event is sent to the owner, but the overriden OnChange never got hit. The same problem when i use the bind-Met...

Thank you! I removed the OnChange from the HHfilewatcher-class and set it in my Panel-Class and used SetOwner. No success. i added this to my class (the Setowner) protected: void OnChange(int changeType, const wxFileName& path, const wxFileName& newPath); void OnWarning(const wxString &errorMessage)...

Problem with wxFileSystemWatcher: Does not recognize modif.

Hi! I'm testing with wx 2.91 and wxFileSystemWatcher. I want to oberve a dir and notify my app if a file was created or modified. Hi!

I compiled wx 2.90 with Visual Studio 2010 yesterday evening. I used the standard VS Project wx.dsw in it and compiled the debug libs in "Multi-Threaded Debug" - Static and the release in "Multi-Threaded". All works fine now, no problems. My old projects can be compiled, too. All nice here!

Hi wxLuis! Do you know what it means or how it can be fixed (if it's an error) ? I have the same while compiling a wx-project. My project also doesn't compile successful. Link errors. Must i recompile the wxFramework to get a successful compilation of my project? What's your wx-config for VS 2010? T...

Sorry guys! I've forgotten to tell you that i've added another panel that's hidden. So there are 2 controls. I know that one control would take the whole space. Maybe i should show it, but set the size to 0,0 ?

Thank you very much. Please excuse my mistake, i did not inform you correctly.

Strange sizing problem

Hi!

I have a problem with sizing a panel. I create a wxFRAME with no titlebar. After that i create a panel on it. the panel's size shall by 29x25. The panel automatically resizes to size of the parent-frame. Is there a way to avoid this and set 29x25 to fixed size?

Thank you!!
