It sounds to me like this is mostly ancient history and wxWidgets should have good unicode support - I'd try it with the unicode build and see if it meets your needs :D.
The situation is such that 'CFDictionaryGetValue' appear to be returning "something" != NULL but I am not 100% sure it is a CFStringRef. That way, 'wxMacCFStringHolder' would crash, assuming it is a CFStringRef in the first place.
It appears wxMacCFStringHolder does NOT che...

> 1.) reimplement wxGetKeyState using Carbon or Cocoa functions ROFL it is using carbon functions :D (well as close as there is) unless you want to go GetKeys() which isnt a bad idea. Back when this was done GetKeys() was bugged in OSX thus the HID implementation. > 2.) use a later version of wxWidg...

Hi there, As far as I know Stefan is planning on sticking with Carbon, albiet as up-to-date and as easy to maintain as possible. What I think Stefan wants is more interop and some of the newer in Cocoa somehow, but that is definately in the future I think. Anyway, if you really are planning on worki...

If I recall correctly, I think the policy was that only gui stuff needs wxApp. Try calling wxInitialize and the reverse version between your calls to the class and see if it works.

EDIT: By gui stuff I mean wxBase library only

Try stealing events from the wxSplashScreen by directly Connect() to it. The key here is in src/generic/splash.cpp void wxSplashScreenWindow::OnMouseEvent(wxMouseEvent& event) { if (event.LeftDown() || event.RightDown()) GetParent()->Close(true); } Just prevent that via mysplash->Connect(-1, wxEVT_L...

Worse comes to worse you could make a seperate wxEventHandler
1) Post a message to that indicating the object to destroy
2) Destroy that object in the other wxEventHandler's event

Re: self-destructing wxEvtHandler and worker thread pattern

Unfortunately I discovered that you cannot do a delete this; inside a wxEvtHandler's event handler. I tried to call Disconnect() first with no effect. Any idea on how to achieve a self-destructing wxEvtHandler ? Hrm, well wxWindow is a form of that (it kills itself in the onclose event) - so I wond...

Re: wxComboBox size

I'm trying to work out how to size a wxComboBox but I cannot workout how the height component relates to the final dropdown height. It doesn't seem to be pixels or number of rows. wxWidgets 2.6.3 , Windows XP Can anyone help? Thanks, Joe I don't think there is a way to really customize the dropdown...

Hi Ryan, this bugs should not be related to the browser used, as the mode is set through GET vars, just like the topic to use. The only problem could be that the session is "faulty", but then again one wouldn't be able to post at all. Yeah, it is a far shot. I was thinking more like maybe there's s...
